Even though we still have 5 weeks of winter left, it’s not too early to think about how you plan on spending your spring-filled days. I am all for drinking shakeratos, Italy’s version of iced coffee, while journaling or just enjoying my surroundings.
When making the perfect coffee drink, you must have the correct grind (extra fine for Turkish coffee to extra coarse for cold brewing), proper coffee-to-water ratio and right water temperature and brew times.
Shakerato (shake-er-AH-toe) Recipe:
- 2 shots of espresso (small batch beans)
- 2-3 teaspoons of Demerara syrup
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add espresso and syrup. Shake powerfully enough for 20 seconds to produce a froth. Strain into a martini or Champagne glass. Serve immediately.
