Savion promotes natural beauty and the use of organic grooming products. However, because of society’s standard of beauty, some savionaires, both male and female, struggle with whether or not to receive Botox® injections. The following account is one savionaire’s experience with the very popular cosmetic procedure.
For the past eight years, I faithfully received Botox® injections every other year. Since my last shots two years ago, I have watched my brow furrow, the line between my eyebrows, become deeper and deeper.
Also, a few new marks have appeared above my temples, a testament to the new muscles used from the old Botox® shots, which atrophied the muscles in the middle. What a bummer! Therefore, I decided to start receiving shots again.
The most important thing to know about this cosmetic procedure is that the Art of Botox® placement, sort of like Feng Shui for the face, is as important as the quality of the injections. Shots have to be strategically injected into the muscles that cause the frowns and expressions. If done properly, it will look as though you underwent a brow lift procedure. Also, your face will be lifted and your eyes will seem brighter and more upbeat. If done improperly, your brow will droop over your eyes or you will have some other complications. Concerning the strength of the injections, shots given at Botox® Parties and at some late-night nail parlors are sometimes watered down.
I stopped by Fred Segal Beauty in Santa Monica, a cool day spa for busy professionals and “Hollywood Honchos” to receive my injections. I was pleased to find out that this spa offered medi-spa treatments contracted by Nouvelle Medical Esthetics, which means that there is a medical doctor and highly-skilled nurse on board. Ahna Landin was my “Angel in White” who showed me the best placement for the Botox® injections. She said that I wouldn’t need any numbing cream (and that I couldn’t lie down for 4 hours afterwards). I didn’t believe her because usually after injections, I have a headache or bruising and have to take a pill or get Arnica to alleviate the bruising. However, Ahna was right. The procedure did not hurt at all because she understood the Feng Shui of Botox®.
