Bob Kramer, the only Master Bladesmith in the world specializing in kitchen cutlery, started making knives after working 10 years in professional kitchens. Instead of wanting to become a top chef, he realized that he preferred to make the best tools a top chef could use. Kramer kitchen knives are sold exclusively at Sur La Table. There are 2 lines to choose from: Carbon Steel and Shun. The former contains blades made from straight carbon steel, which will turn into a blue-gray patina over time. The latter is my favorite because of its patterned-Damascus steel blades, Pakkawood® handles, and detailed center pins. Each knife is definitely worth its $140 to $380 price tag.
