The Wall Street Journal published an article last month about how “Streaming is Killing Physical Media,” questioning whether DVDs and Blu-rays are a thing of the past since Samsung has decided to stop making Blu-ray players. I might be part of a dying breed who still plays my DVD collection like Paul Schrodt, co-author of the article, but as much as I love digital streaming because of his convenience, this Generation Xer will always love watching DVDs, especially since every movie is not on digital such as “8 Million Ways to Die” with Jeff Bridges and Andy Garcia.
Since I am on the go, I prefer portable DVD players, so I can watch my favorite DVDs anytime, anywhere. I place my portable DVD player on a stand in front of my home office couch and watch movies while eating popcorn, making business calls, researching money-making ideas and working my laptop. After trying a few players over the years, I have finally found the one for me: Tenker’s 12.1 Portable DVD Player with Swivel Screen, Rechargeable Battery, SD Card Slot and USB Port. I just wish it came in a variety of colors.
